WHAT’S UP IN BUFFILAND

buffiamersfoort

I’ve been working with Sandra van Nieuwland, got filmed for TV (more on that soon) saved some asses at a Master Class in Amersfoort, and helped coach an inspiring CEO for her TedXWomen talk in December. A full and very busy week, but when you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life!

TIM KNOL

I love working with Tim, who released his album “Soldier On” just a few days ago. If you get a chance, have a listen to song number 6, “Sea of Shame” – that’s the song we wrote together. It’s a fantastic album and I’m thrilled with how all his hard work has paid off so beautifully. Here’s a littleStop! Grammar Time!” video we made together last year.

RACOON

NOW I can talk about it – I coached Bart on the lyrics of “Shoes of Lightning” – the theme song for3fm’s Serious Request campaign this year. Every word counts when you write a song, and I’m so proud that Bart asked me to help him out, lyric wise. It’s a very special song for a very important cause. All the proceeds go to the Red Cross. You can download the song here

BERLIN

I’ll be coaching and doing Master Classes in Berlin for the rest of the week. I’m a visiting lecturer at the School of Popular Arts – it’s a wonderful place with really inspiring students – I’m really looking forward to working there again (I go every year). I’ll also be having meetings about the German edition of my first book, Rock Your English! Exciting times! If you have any Berlin shopping tips (I have 23 minutes off), do let me know!

HOW GOOD IS YOUR ENGLISH – FIND OUT NOW!

Take 3 minutes and find out how good your English is in this quick test – why wait?

YOUR QUESTIONS – ANSWERED!

“Hi Buffi, I have a quick question – what does ‘prey’ mean? Is that a spelling mistake?” – from C, during a studio session.

Thanks for asking! “Prey” and “pray” are two different words that sound exactly the same but have very different meanings. “Prey” is an animal that is hunted down for food. It’s also used to describe someone when referring to them as a victim, for example – “She fell prey to his charms.” “Pray” is from the verb “to pray”, which means to offer a prayer to God. I hope that helps!

HATE TO LOVE YOU AND LEAVE YOU

But I do! I do! I have to pack for Berlin and get all my teaching materials ready and chocolate letters for my German chums and OMG there is so much to do!!

Sending you a mirror that says this to you every time you look into it… in my head!
